Allah has enlightened us about goodness and badness through. He has ordered the goodness by forbidding the badness, and then he gave freedom of our own choices. On the other hand, he has informed that we are responsible for the choice we have made and good deeds will be responded by rewards and bad deeds will be responded by punishment. Yet, he also has given the possibility of repentance (taubah). Repentance is to regret the sin that a person committed, to promise Him that she or he will never do it again and to earnestly wish for forgiveness from him.
The sins are curtain between the Muslim and Allah’s pleasure. It depends on our repentance whether this curtain would be removed or not. Our prophet said like this ‘Everyone may commit sin. The best ones of those who commit sin are those who repent’. Repentance has been ordered and recommended for every Muslim, because people easily fall in mistake. Because of this reason, Allah has decreed ‘and all of you beg Allah to forgive you all, o believers, so that you may be successful’.
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Islam,
Taubah and the feeling of being forgiven has given us to be tied to the life, not to lose hope and sink into the sins. So those who believe should do taubah by heading toward Allah right away when committed a sin intentionally or unintentionally. Because there is no shelter expect Allah’s mercy for the sinful.
I finish my khutbah with a verse from Surat Şura, ‘He it is who accepts repentance from his slaves and forgives sins and he knows what you do’.
